Adobe released Adobe Reader 9.4.2 which addresses critical vulnerabilities have been identified in Adobe Reader 9.4 (and earlier versions) for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX, and Adobe Acrobat 9.4 (and earlier 9.x versions) for Windows and Macintosh. These vulnerabilities could cause the application to crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. Risk for Adobe Reader X users is significantly lower, as none of these issues bypass Protected Mode mitigations.

The 9.4.2 update comes as a Windows Installer Patch file (MSP) for Adobe Reader 9.4. Check out "Deploy Adobe Acrobat and Reader" and the 'Adobe Customization Wizard 9' which makes it very easy to customize the Adobe Reader for deployment:
